These aren't talking points. These are my commitments to the people of Ward 1 — in plain language, no exceptions.
Our affordability crisis is real. I experience it every day as a student and service worker in this city. I will fight to lower the cost of living in Ward 1 in three concrete ways.
I pledge to support the expansion of publicly owned housing and cooperatives. Housing is a right, not a commodity — and I will fight to make sure our neighbors are never priced out of their own community.
I pledge to introduce a citywide Local Food Assistance program that allows residents to shop at local grocery stores and farmers markets. No one in Ward 1 should go hungry.
I pledge to fight for the A2P2 plan — a publicly owned, renewable energy grid for Ann Arbor. Lower energy bills, cleaner power, and a grid that answers to us, not utility shareholders.
We need to protect our future from corporate interests, federal fascism, and unchecked AI. I will not let our city sleep through what is happening around us.
We cannot sleep through the AI Revolution. I pledge to fight against data centers in our communities — they overwhelm our infrastructure, drive up costs, and serve corporate interests, not ours.
I will help build an AI literacy program to help elders and other underserved communities understand the risks and realities of Artificial Intelligence. Nobody should be left behind by technology they don't understand.
Social services should not be privatized. I will fight to make our city cleaner and safer, and I will make sure our Ward's tax dollars are working for the people — fully transparent and accountable to the community.
We need to be organized. The rise of fascism in our federal government means we must stick together. I will not just represent Ward 1 from City Hall — I will be present in our neighborhood, every day.
I will support labor and tenant unions of all sizes. Workers and renters deserve protection, fair wages, and a city government that has their backs — not their landlords' or their bosses'.
I will help progressive organizations in Ward 1 grow and organize. A strong community needs strong institutions, and I will use my position on City Council to amplify grassroots power.
The students who make Ann Arbor the city we love are being ignored. Through community engagement and listening to the voices of the people, I will make sure our neighbors can learn and grow without worrying about their next meal.
